Before Saracens Aviva Premiership fixture against London Welsh on Sunday, more than 1,500 parents, players and coaches took to the field at Allianz Park to take part in this season’s U7 & U8 Alan Day Volkswagen Cup.
Clubs from across Hertfordshire, Essex and Kent all took part with the initial challenge to qualify as one of the top eight teams who will be invited back on 4th May to take part in our Champions event.
The festival also provided the opportunity to battle it out to be victor on the day. Congratulations must go Harpenden U7’s and Hemel Hempstead U8’s who claimed these titles on Sunday.
Harpenden U7s second team were Runners Up and Barnet claimed the other Runners Up place in the U8 age group.
Simon Mathews from Cheshunt U7’s commented: “Just wanted to say thanks to you and the team for organising a great day. All the players and parents from Cheshunt Under 7’s thoroughly enjoyed themselves. My 7 year old hasn’t stopped talking about the tries he scored on the same pitch as his heroes, Chris Ashton, Owen Farrell and now David Strettle.”
Chris Kennedy from Ongar RFC from Upminster also fed back: “Just a quick note to thank you for such a great day. It was a great day for all – the players enjoyed the special atmosphere and playing on the pitch.”
