Barritt full of respect for Clermont

Midfield general Brad Barritt believes two of Europe’s premier sides will be in action at the Stade Marcel Michelin on Sunday, when Saracens face French giants ASM Clermont Auvergne in a crucial Pool 1 clash in France.

Barritt, who made a welcomed return to action in Saracens impressive 33-10 win over Munster last weekend will partner Chris Wyles at centre, as Saracens go into to the game second placed in Pool 1 trailing the Montferrand based side by a solitary point.

Speaking ahead of the game, Barritt said: “It’s an immense task. Every European game is huge, so there’s an added spice to Sunday’s game in terms of how the Pool standings are, and in terms of the two histories of these two clubs.

“They are two teams fighting for honours, both in their domestic leagues and in Europe. Clermont are a team we have a huge amount of respect for and it’s going to be a huge game.”

He added: “Each and every player can’t wait to step out in the Stade Marcel Michelin on Sunday, it's huge game and one we're all looking forward to.”
