Brad Barritt will land in Australia on Monday morning and 24 hours later he will make his debut for the British and Irish Lions after being named in the starting line-up for the tourists’ match against the ACT Brumbies.
Barritt, who was on holiday in America when he received the Lions’ call on Saturday, starts the match at outside centre alongside fellow England team mate and another injury replacements in Billy Twelvetrees. Matt Stevens also starts Tuesday’s match in Canberra with Owen Farrell named on the bench.
On Saturday, Mako Vunipola produced another impressive display in the Lions 47-17 victory over the New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney while Farrell came off the bench early in the second half in the build up to the first Lions test.
