Tag Rugby Programme
The Saracens Tag Rugby Programme aims to increase the number of primary schools delivering Tag Rugby activities to its pupils. Every primary school teacher within our community is given the opportunity to attend a Saracens 'Ready for Rugby' teacher training session.
Pupils from Year 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to showcase their newly developed skills and compete against other local primary schools at a Saracens Tag Rugby Festival. These festivals are hosted by local rugby clubs, providing pupils with a pathway to out of school and long-term participation. The programme culminates in the Hertfordshire County Final where one school is crowned Saracens Tag Rugby Champions.
In 2009/10, 405 teams from schools participated in the programme - that's a staggering 4,500 children.
