Saracens Sports Leaders and Volunteering Programme
Over the past 7 years Saracens and the RFU have been working with a number of young people offering various training and opportunities. During this time we have worked with over 650 young Sports Leader Students to help them progress through coaching techniques and skills which they can take on to a variety of volunteering opportunities. We have targeted Further and Higher Education establishments to target those students who have more leisure time and therefore have a greater opportunity to work within their communities supporting grass root sport development.
Building upon the success of our Sport Leader programme we aim to increase the number and the level of voluntary activity in our community. Using existing links between Saracens, Further and Higher Education Establishments, School Sports Partnerships, Herts Sports Partnership and local sports clubs we will work with young people to give them the skills and qualifications they need to work with young people, thus providing positive role models in local communities.
