Saracens were in for day two of their pre-season training in preparation for the 2013/14 season.
The only absentees from training at Saracens’ training base at Old Albanians RUFC on Tuesday were those players who have had international duty this summer, with four players still away with the British and Irish Lions.
Others who were absent were players who toured with England, Scotland, Wales, Samoa and the USA this summer, whilst youngsters Matt Hankin and Scott Spurling who have been involved in the Under-20 Junior World Cup in France also sat out the sessions.
Some of the players, including, Mouritz Botha, Jacques Burger, Will Fraser, Alex Goode, Ernst Joubert and Joel Tomkins – all injured towards the end of last season – and Kelly Brown injured on international duty, have done some rehabilitation work in the last week or so to help them get back up to speed.
“It was a nice ‘easy’ session to get the lads reacquainted with training” said Saracens Backs Coach Kevin Sorrell. “It was short and sharp today and the lads worked pretty hard and that’s all you expect at this stage of the season”.
