2013/14 sees the Saracens Tag Rugby Programme strive to be the biggest year so far with a goal to increase the number of primary schools across Hertfordshire and North London delivering Tag Rugby.
A total of 23 Saracens Tag festivals will be held over 20 school partnerships areas, giving year 5 and 6 pupils the opportunity to showcase their newly developed skills and compete against other local primary schools.

These festivals are hosted by local rugby clubs, providing pupils with a pathway from school to club and long-term participation in rugby. The Tag Programme will also continue to culminate in the Hertfordshire County Final where one school is crowned Saracens Tag Rugby Champions.

2012/13 saw 42 teams from over 300 schools participate – that’s a staggering 4,200 children involved in the programme with 2013/14 season aiming to grow even further.

The Tag Programme is not just focused on pupils! Every primary school teachers within our community are given the opportunity to attend a Saracens ‘Ready for Rugby’ teacher training session. This helps build teacher confidence in delivering tag rugby throughout the year giving a long lasting and continued legacy beyond the Tag Programme, making competition success greater throughout.
