Fraser ready for Wasps test

Flanker Will Fraser returns to Premiership action in Saracens' season opener against Wasps at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday, kick-off 14h00.

Fraser has been named in Saracens starting XV for the first time since a leg injury ruled the back rower out of the majority of last season.

“We’ve had a good week’s preparation,” said Fraser who will start at openside flanker. “There’s always a great buzz around the lads when you know pre-season has finished and you’re getting into the regular season – everyone just can’t wait to get on the field. Personally it’s just nice to be back playing. I want to be doing the best I can for the team”.

On Saturday’s opposition he added; “They’ve always had a dangerous backline, especially their back three, so we don’t want to be kicking them easy ball that they can counterattack from. Their pack and set-piece is also very good, so we now they will be offering us threats from all over the pitch. We know we’ll have to be on our game if we want to come away from Twickenham with a result."
