Will Fraser and Jackson Wray (pictured) both made their first starts of the season against London Wasps and the two Saracens Academy graduates who both impressed on Saturday, said they were happy to have come away with the victory against London Wasps.
“It was a tough game” said Wray, who didn’t miss a tackle during the game.
“A few guys were getting their first starts of the season and they were really up for it. We made a few errors in the first half but we worked really hard throughout the contest and we got the win which is the most important thing.
Wray added; “I felt really good in the game and we go into Europe for a really tough test away to Connacht, with a five out five record, which it isn’t too bad”.
Wray’s back row colleague Will Fraser was also happy to have started his first game of the season, with the 23 year-old crowning his first appearance of the season with a try in the 46th minute.
“Obviously it was great to get over the whitewash” said Fraser.
“I’ve got lots areas that I need to work on but it was great to get full game under my belt which is good for my confidence going forward. There’s a really big game next week and I’ll take the positives of my performance against Wasps into Galway on Friday night”.
