Global Network preview
Some of Saracens nine Global Network sides are in action across the globe this weekend.
Impala Saracens, Nairobi
It’s Sevens season in Kenya and Impala Saracens are playing in the Driftwood 7s, for the third leg of the Safaricom 7s series. They finished fifth and won the plate in the first leg and finished fourth in the second leg.
Lelo Saracens, Tbilisi
Following an opening 24-19 victory over TBS University, the reigning champions of Georgia will be looking for a second win when they play Batumi this weekend.
Moscow Saracens, lying third in the Russian championship, play second-placed Yenisey-STM on Sunday, and victory will guarantee the Saracens club a place in the play-offs. Two rounds of the regular league season remain, before the semi-finals and final.
Sao Paulo Saracens
Lying eighth in the Brazilian Super 10 after four rounds, São Paulo Saracens need to snap a three-match losing streak and beat Curtiba Rugby this weekend to kick-start their season.
After the completion of the summer Sevens season, the club held their first 15s training session this week, preparing for the league matches that lie ahead.
Having already secured a home semi-final, the current Romanian champions will complete their league programme with a match at home to CSM Bucuresti on Saturday and will be looking to find some form before next weekend’s semi-final. Danie de Villiers, the South African coach, has been replaced by Grainger Heikell, from New Zealand.
