Rugby fans from all 12 Aviva Premiership Rugby clubs will be representing their clubs at Twickenham on 31 May. The dynamic dozen will be appearing in the Grab a Ticket Champion of Champions in the West Car Park Fan Village before the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final.
With champions from each club taking part at Twickenham, the lucky winner is set to scoop the honour of taking the Aviva Premiership Rugby trophy pitch-side prior to kick-off.
Throughout the season, Aviva Premiership Rugby has been taking the ticket twister game to each of the 12 Aviva Premiership Rugby grounds so that supporters from all clubs can win the chance to be their club’s champion at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final. Once inside the inflatable ticket twister, the aim of the game is to grab as many tickets as possible in 30 seconds with the winner picking up a pair of top category tickets and the opportunity to represent their club and be part of the biggest club rugby final in the world.
Currently, James Horton tops the bill, having snaffled no less than 121 tickets at London Irish’s St Patrick’s Day Game against Bath.
“I never win anything,” said James. “So it’ll be really exciting to go to the Aviva Premiership Final.”
At Gloucester Rugby in late February meanwhile, Cherry & Whites supporter Julie Marlow came away with a score of 52 to claim top prize. Earlier in February it was the turn of Harlequins and Sale Sharks, and at the AJ Bell Stadium – after club mascot Sharky had shown everyone how it’s done – Liam Wrigley posted an unassailable score of 64. At Quins meanwhile, it was Chad Miller who won his pair of tickets and his place at Twickenham, snatching victory with a score of 41, just minutes before the match against London Wasps kicked off.
Last weekend, Rugby HQ got a sneak preview of the ticket twister in action as the battle for the last club champion’s place was hard fought before London Wasps hosted Gloucester Rugby in The Stinger. London Wasps and Gloucester Rugby fans flocked to Twickenham in their droves but Alfie Osborne clinched victory to become the London Wasps Grab a Ticket Champion.
A thrilled Alfie said: “What a great prize – I can’t wait for the final. Thank you so much!”
Other club winners who will be taking part in the Champion of Champions Challenge include Nick Wharmby, who collected 44 tickets at Bath Rugby, Charlie Thorpe, who snared 35 at Northampton Saints, Laura Dupont thanks to her haul of 52 at Worcester Warriors and Andy Gibbon (45 tickets) at Leicester Tigers.
Fraser Muir – whose score of 89 puts him among the favourites for the overall prize – was victorious at Saracens, while Paul Holding and Lewis Hearse were winners at Exeter Chiefs and Newcastle Falcons respectively.
Everyone who goes to the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final will get the chance to try to top the Grab a Ticket leader board in the Twickenham West Car Park Fan Village from 11.30am before the Champion of Champions Grand Final from 1pm.
