Hankin helps England U20s to famous win
Saracens flanker Matt Hankin was among the scorers as England Under 20s reached the IRB Junior World Championship for the fourth time in six years after a historic 33-21 win against New Zealand in Vannes, France.
Tuesday’s win is England’s first against the Baby Blacks at age grade level and Nick Walshe’s side will meet northern hemisphere rivals Wales at the Stade de la Rabine in Sunday’s showpiece final.
Hooker Scott Spurling also got a taste of the action in the second half as England didn’t go behind throughout the game, as tries from flanker Hankin, wing Anthony Watson and replacement prop Tom Smallbone helped them to the win, while fly half Henry Slade added 18 points with the boot.
