Kruis full of praise for Farrell
George Kruis praised outside half Owen Farrell after Saracens beat London Irish 22-6 in a rain soaked round 12 Premiership clash at Allianz Park.
Kruis (who himself was superb throughout the contest) applauded his teammate Farrell for his control of the game in a contest in which the Saracens No10 kicked four penalties.
Speaking after the 22-6 win, Kruis said; “We were told to go pretty direct today, and as a result of that we sucked their defence in quite a lot. On the back of that Faz (Owen Farrell) called some great moves and the calls out of the back and we caused them some problems. He controlled things very well today.
"We knew today would be a tough game, and so it proved. They really up their game when they face us, and out of the last four games they have won one, and ran is very close earlier this year at the Madejski".
“I thought the conditions played into their hands, we knew they would kick a lot and that’s exactly what they did".
Kruis also reserved praise for Saracens wing David Strettle, who crossed for two well taken tries during the match.
Kruis said: “He’s (Strettle) a top quality player. He can sidestep you and finish a try in a phone box! The man has footwork that very few wingers have, and it’s very useful having him on your side”.
