Lelo Saracens, from Tbilisi, Georgia are the latest team to have joined the Saracens Global Network, writes Henry Fraser.
As one of the fastest growing rugby nations, Georgia have once again qualified for the Rugby World Cup in 2015 and as Lelo Saracens club president Vasil Kevlishvili explains, the Tbilisi based side believes that their recently established relationship with Saracens will benefit Georgian rugby in the long term.
“We instantly realised the importance and the benefits a relationship with one of Europe’s top clubs could bring and we are excited to partner with Saracens,” said Kevlishvili.
“Saracens goodwill and help in our development will have a hugely positive effect on rugby in Tbilisi and Georgia as a whole. We have put in place the foundation for an excellent partnership and we are excited to learn the Saracens way. Our coaches and young Georgian talent will gain a wealth of experience from elite professionals”.
He added; “Not only will be learning from the coaching side of the club but also the administration, rugby clubs are growing and with this we need to ensure growth is maximised on and off the field.”
