Kieran Longbottom made his first appearance in Saracens colours, playing 50 minutes in their impressive 39-5 win over the Ospreys at the HAC, London.
The 28-year-old prop forward who arrived at the Club from Super Rugby side Western Force has now been with Saracens for three weeks since leaving his native Perth in Australia – and the tighthead said he enjoyed his time out on the pitch alongside his new teammates.
“It was really good to be out there,” said Longbottom.
“On a personal note, it was great to have played my lungs out a bit, and put a couple of good scrums in out there. I can move forward from here and look to hopefully get better and better”.
Saracens Defence and Forwards coach Paul Gustard praised Longbottom’s debut performance; “I thought he did great out there. Kieran has fitted in really well with the squad since the self-proclaimed “K-Bomb” has come over from the Western Force. We’ve got four very good tightheads at the club in Juan Figallo, Petrus Du Plessis and JJ (James Johnston), and hopefully they will strive and push each other . I think Kieran had a very competent debut today”.
