After a typical all action display in his long awaited return to the first team, Jacques Burger has set his sights on establishing Allianz Park as a fortress for the 2013/14 season.
“It’s special playing at Allianz Park” said Burger.
“I played there against Bedford for the first time in one of our preseason games the other week and the atmosphere was fantastic; it’s our home and that is really important to us, so we have to make Allianz Park our fortress this season”.
Gloucester will be making the journey to north London on Sunday, and Burger believes they’ll provide Saracens with a ‘tough challenge’.
“We are going to make it tough for teams when they come and visit us and we’re looking forward to welcoming Gloucester on Sunday. They’ll provide a really tough challenge for us and after their disappointment last weekend they’ll be fired up for their visit here” said the Namibian.
“There are no easy challenges in the Premiership, so we know we will have to be prepared come Sunday afternoon, and we’re really looking forward to playing our first home game in front of our fantastic fans. Personally, I can’t wait for the game.”
“After playing for so long at rented accommodation at Vicarage Road it feels great to run out at a stadium with our name above the front door”.
