Marathon effort for Saracens Sport Foundation

The long anticipated inaugural North London Half marathon, which started and finished at Allianz Park hosted thousands of runners, with the Saracens Sports foundation proud to enter a team of 30.

The race course had many challenges with unexpected lengthy hill stretches, however credit and sincere thanks are due for the team of 30 runners who took part in order to raise awareness and funds for the Saracens Sport Foundation on what was an overcast and chilly Sunday morning.

Between them, our runners have managed to raise in excess of a tremendous £7892 all in aid of the Saracens Sport Foundation, with the fundraising total still expected to increase. A hugely inspiring figure, which has only been possible thanks to the dedication and belief of those who took part.

Emily Levoir, Phillip Collins, Clement Sicart, Jonathan Rackstraw, Daniel Hutchinson, Anthony Gunning, Nick Mason, Birinder Lally, Alistair Long, Alexandra Galviz, Danielle Mulvey, Calum Steele, Scott Watson, Lauren Chester, Tessa Johnson, Alison Pearson, Neil Pearson, Penny Griffiths, Steve Cummins, Ruth Kent, Andrew Lynch, Daniel Risdon, Graham White, Kevin Sorrell, Paul Gustard, Samantha Lee, Kusai Rahal, Lucy Pujos, Melissa Hudd, Gordon Banks.

Whether walking, jogging, running, or just through sheer determination to finish, all runners achieved great personal success in crossing the finish line. For some the NLHM was their first ever long distance run, for others the first physical exercise they have done for 6 or more years. Some took the run in their stride in preparation for a bigger challenge which they face in 6 weeks in the form of the London marathon but for all it was certainly a fulfilling and remarkable accomplishment.

Well done and thank you to all of those who have been a part of this remarkable journey. Without your hard work, dedication and support we really would not be able to continue with delivering ground breaking opportunities to those many beneficiaries of the Foundations projects.

Special thanks must go to each and every one of our team, when you read this I hope you will reflect on how valued your contribution has been; whether it was to raise awareness by running in the bright green top, surpassing your fundraising target and then some, or volunteering and being a great ambassador for the charity, we are so lucky to have received your support, and cannot thank you enough!

The Saracens Sport Foundation would also like to recognise and give thanks to the following who supported our team.
