Allez les Noirs

The Saracens Supporters Association (SSA) is a voluntary organisation run by supporters of Saracens to provide an additional focus for supporter activities during the playing season. They also work closely with the non-playing Club staff by helping to arrange supporter led events throughout the year. Membership of the SSA is separate to that of the Club and has traditionally been available for a nominal annual fee that in turn provides significant discount options on all events and travel arrangements throughout the season.

Initially formed to provide an organised form of recognised travel to all away fixtures in the calendar, the SSA work with a number of local carriers to provide a relaxing way to travel with the Men in Black. Usually picking up at the old Bramley Road clubhouse and Watford Asda they run a direct service to all premiership grounds. All supporters are welcome on the trips where on-board entertainment will often include a prize quiz along with the latest films and good music. Although the coaches run a strict no-smoking policy, all other refreshments are allowed.

Over past seasons the SSA have also been responsible for bringing a range of key events to local venues specifically aimed at the supporter group. They have organised notable evenings with top referees such as Tony Spreadbury and Ashley Rowden, held informal discussions with Tony Diprose and Kyran Bracken and learned playing insights from Alan Gaffney to name a few. They have also pioneered an exciting stage version of Question of Sport involving two teams of current players battling it out for the honours. These events have seen Thomas Castaignede feeling a surprised Trevor Leota as a guess the sportsman and latterly Kyran Bracken cross-dressing as our very own Sue Barker!

They have also successfully run a number of inclusive package tours for supporters to the European tournament games and this season produced a supporter shirt specifically for the pool rounds of the competition. Their complimentary range of Club merchandise has included a traditional shirt, college scarf, various personalised polo shirts and even a Thirst XV shirt!

The SSA run their own website where details of all events and current planned trips are advertised. You can also join their growing band of members, book your seats and enroll for a regular newsletter on the site. They also have a regular page in the matchday programme where latest events and plans are shared along with the traditional comic piece about the latest European trip. They are also responsible for putting up the huge flag in the North stand before the home games so look out for this!

Most importantly, the SSA is there to principally support Saracens and hopefully have some fun whilst doing so often opening doors to areas that regular supporters rarely get to see. They are always keen to welcome new members, but equally as interested in new faces wanting to become involved in the voluntary organisational side. If you have any ideas of things you would like to see from the SSA or want to offer your expertise in any area dont hesitate to get in touch.
