McCall praises 'remarkable' Brown


Mark McCall was said he was pleased to have come away from the AJ Bell Stadium with the a 10-15 win, after his Saracens side come out on top in a tough encounter against the Sharks.

The Saracens Director of Rugby singled out back rower Kelly Brown for particular praise, after the Scotland international produced one of the performances of the season with a trademark committed and physical display.

"Kelly Brown was magnificent today. For me he was the standout player on the pitch" beamed McCall.

"His defensive effort and his ball carrying was superb - he was outstanding around the fringes tonight. It was a remarkable performance".

On the game as a whole McCall added; "I thought we deserved to win.  After the first half we controlled the game very well and nearly scored when Duncan Taylor was held up over the line.

"What pleased me most today was that defensively we were outstanding. After last weeks disappointment to come up to Sale with a six day turnaround and get the win is very pleasing."
