Saturday sees Saracens welcome champions Leicester Tigers to Allianz Park and back row Jackson Wray is prepared for the challenge him and his teammates will face, writes Louise Warr.
He said: “It is always a tough game. Obviously this time of the season is a tough time for everyone really, trying to keep momentum going. It has come at the end of a long run of games for us, but we really want to play well and get the result.”
Despite their opponents boasting a raft of threatening players all over the field, the 23-year-old believes the game will be won amongst the forwards.
“I think their set piece is very good but we like to pride ourselves on set piece as well. They specifically put a big emphasis on their set piece and their forward runners and that is something we have focused on this week and hopefully come out on top. That will go a long way to determining the outcome of the game.”
With Christmas spirit set to hit Allianz Park on Saturday, Wray is relishing the opportunity to play in front of a packed home support.
“When it’s a bigger crowd here its always a good atmosphere. Running out to a packed out stadium is amazing, wherever it is. Hopefully when it comes to Saturday and the full house it will have a positive influence on the team.”
