Big Bash: Nominations For Young Player of the Year

The Young Player of the Year award goes to an outstanding member of the squad who is aged under 24. Like player of the year it recognises an individual who has truly excelled throughout the course of the season. The Nominations for 2015/16 are:

Billy Vunipola

Given his prominence over the past few seasons it is sometimes hard to remember that Billy is only 23 years old. His 2015/16 season has been defined by a developing maturity in his game which has been furthered by his appointment as one of England’s vice captains during the Six Nations.

Maro Itoje

Last season Maro Itoje captained Saracens to A-League and LV Cup glory. This season he has firmly cemented himself in the senior squad as well as gaining his first International call up. His consistently exceptional performances and Itoje’s composure on the pitch at such a young age are admired by many, both on the pitch and of it, and his armoury of skills indicate even bigger things are to come from the 21 year old.

Titi Lamositele

21 year old USA international Titi joined the Saracens Acadmey in 2013 and has become a key member of the Saracens team with his flexibility to play either at tighthead or at loosehead prop. He graduated to the senior squad Powerful at the scrum yet also mobile around the field Titi is an exciting front row prospect for Saracens. A highlight this season was his performance against Bath when his introduction from the bench was labelled “one of the turning points of the game” by Mark McCall.

To find out which of these young Saracens stars will be crowned Young Player of the Season join us at Allianz Park on the 7th May. As well as the Awards there will be food, drink, live music and fireworks available. General admission tickets for the event are free and can be claimed by emailing supporterservices@saracens.net
