Champions Cup Stat Attack

European Rugby makes it’s return next weekend with back to back Champions Cup fixtures.

Saracens will welcome Sale Sharks in the first of these fixtures on Saturday 10th December and to get us back in the European mood we took a look at some of the stats and facts from the competition so far.

So far this season the Champions Cup has seen a total of 109 tries and 945 points scored with Owen Farrell the tournament’s leading points scorer with 35.

Alex Goode has made the most metres for Saracens in attack, making 175 of Sarries’ total 1,020.

In defense it’s looking like the match up between Sarries and Sale will be full of big hits. The two sides have made a combined total of 479 tackles between them over the two rounds played so far.

Sale and Sarries met at this same stage of the Champions Cup back in 2014/15, with Saracens coming out on top in both Rounds 3 and Rounds 4.

The Men in Black are currently on an eleven game winning streak stretching back throughout last season’s Champion year. Sale have had a tough start to this season but pushed giants Toulon close in their round two meeting before ultimately losing out 15-5.

European rugby has seen some great support from the Sarries faithful in recent seasons and we’re looking forward to seeing you all back at Allianz Park in a weeks time!
