McCall Pays Tribute To Departing Skelton

Following his last appearance for Saracens on Saturday against Toulon Mark McCall paid tribute to the efforts of lock forward Will Skelton during his time with the club.

The Australian wrapped up his Saracens career in memorable fashion on Saturday, putting a last ditch tackle on Toulon’s Samu Manoa to stop a certain try in the dying moments of the game, guaranteeing Saracens a home quarter final in the process.

“He’s been important really because George has been injured and Maro’s been injured” said McCall, “so he’s done a great job for us.”

Skelton made seven appearances for Saracens during his time with the club after signing a short term contact in early December 2016, featuring in the Aviva Premiership and the Champions Cup.

“He’s made a brilliant contribution” McCall added. “He’s very popular amongst all the players and hopefully we’ve whetted his appetite to maybe come back in the future.”
