New Arrival Day Eager for Bermuda Tour

Dominic Day is ready to get stuck in to Saracens pre-season tour of Bermuda.

The Welsh lock arrived at training this week, and is already looking to establish himself as a key member of the Sarries family.

He said: “The tour will be the most time I have spent with the squad, so for me it will mostly be about learning plays, learning how different players run things, because I think that’s key.”

Day joked about coming away with a good tan, before stressing the importance of the training.

He said: “In general, most rugby teams do similar things and it’s just about how well you execute. So, I’ll be trying to slot in as best I can.”

Sarries signed Day on a two-year deal from Australian side Melbourne Rebels this summer. Adding more experience to an already formidable second row.

Speaking about his new teammates, he said: “It’s really exciting to have guys come back from the Lions tour, and for me to be in the same position as two guys who played in a few of the tests is awesome.

“They are great competitors and great athletes the two of them. Hopefully I can keep pushing them and it will only be good for the club.”

He will get a chance to get to know them, and the rest of the squad, better next week. Enjoying Bermuda’s pink beaches and golf courses before the team take on USA Islanders on 10th August.
