Saracens Name Team To Face Racing 92 In Champions Cup Final


Saracens have named their side to face Racing 92 in the European Rugby Champions Cup final at the Grand Stade de Lyon, kick-off 17h45 (local time).

Saracens will be led out in Lyon by Brad Barritt, with the inside centre lining up alongside Duncan Taylor in midfield. In the back three, Alex Goode is named at full-back and is joined by Chris Wyles and Chris Ashton on the wings.

At half-back, the Champions Cup leading scorer Owen Farrell will start at fly-half alongside scrumhalf Richard Wigglesworth.

Up front, Mako Vunipola starts at loosehead prop and will be joined by Schalk Brits (hooker) and Petrus du Plessis (tighthead prop) in the front-row. At lock, England Grand Slammers Maro Itoje and George Kruis partner each other in the heart of the Sarries engine room. 

Will Fraser starts at openside flanker and will be joined by Michael Rhodes (blindside flanker) and Billy Vunipola in the Saracens back row.

On the bench, Jamie George is named as the replacement hooker with Richard Barrington and Juan Figallo the other front-row replacements. Jim Hamilton and Jackson Wray cover lock and back-row respectively whilst Ben Spencer is named as scrumhalf cover with Neil de Kock missing out through injury. Charlie Hodgson and Marcelo Bosch are the backs cover.
