Sarrie’s Track Club is coming to Harrow!
On the 28th April, 2017, Sarrie’s Track Club will be launching at the Bannister Sport Centre in Harrow!
This programme will mirror our current Sarrie’s Track Club which is run onsite at Allianz Park and has been a fantastic success since its start date late last year. Sarrie’s Track Club will be Saracen’s Sport Foundations first ever off site disABILITY provision which is an extremely exciting prospect!
Sarrie’s Track Club is an inclusive track based running project for disabled individuals supported by a workforce of dedicated volunteers. The club will run every Friday, 5.00pm - 6.00pm (during term time) at the Bannister Sport Centre, Uxbridge Road, Harrow, HA3 6SW.
Participants will run laps of the track and progress through recognised stages, developing skills throughout attending the sessions under the guidance of our fully qualified athletics coach. They will accumulate the kilometres they run each week, with an aim of reaching progressive targets of 10km, 50km, 100km and 500km.
Participants will complete their laps of the track with the help of a ‘buddy runner’. These will be volunteers allocated to run with a participant to help motivate and support them throughout the session whilst also gaining all the social and fitness benefits involved.
Through being a member of Sarrie’s Track Club, participants & volunteers will receive running tee’s & hoodies respectively after attending the club for a number of sessions. Participants & volunteers will also receive a welcome start up pack including a Saracen’s bag, bottle & wristband.
We are actively looking for participants and volunteers to be part of Sarrie’s Track Club, so if you would like to join Sarrie’s Track Club as a participant or sign up as a volunteer, please contact our disABILITY Sport Development Manager; Benjamin Lawrence - E: firstname.lastname@example.org T: 07875023962/02036757278
