Review
It was another successful season for Worcester who finished eighth in their second season in the top-flight – an improvement of one place on the previous season.

Although not really threatening to break into the play-offs, they were a constant threat in the Premiership and a difficult side to play – particularly at Sixways.

They made an excellent start to the season with six wins and a draw in their opening nine matches but their form fell away after that with just three wins in their remaining 13 matches.

Their fine home record was in no small part to the support they received with attendances of more than 9,000 in 10 of their 11 home fixtures.

John Brain's side did well in the European Challenge Cup making it to the semi finals before going out to eventual winners Gloucester at Kingsholm including an excellent away win at Northampton in the quarter finals, but they could not recreate that cup form in the Powergen Cup as they lost all three group matches.

New boy Shane Drahm equalled the club record of five penalties in a match three times during the season in a campaign that also saw him earn an England A call-up, qualifying through residency laws as opposed to playing for his native New Zealand. He slotted over 52 penalties during the season to set a new club record beating the previous record of 50 set by Sateki Tuipulotu in 2000/01.

Brian has added pace to his backline for this season with the capture of speedster Marcel Garvey from Gloucester, but the tradition of keeping a strong forward pack has been maintained with the arrival of experienced Darren Morris from Leicester.
