All Black Jack relishing back row switch
11 Sep 2008 - 17:30
The beginning of the 2008/09 Guinness Premiership season has brought a fresh start for Chris Jack â in more ways than one.
After battling back from the frustrations of finishing last season on the sidelines with a hand injury, the 67-times capped All Black is fit again and ready to go â starting the season running out in the back row. And heâs relishing the challenge that the change of position brings.
Itâs been from the second row where Jack made his name with New Zealand and Canterbury Crusaders but the 30-year-old has been set a new challenge this season that has seen him wearing the number six shirt â something which has sparked plenty of debate.
âIâm really enjoying it,â explained Jack who is in the starting line-up for tonightâs trip to Sale Sharks. âIt gives me more of a licence to play a bit more loose in terms of attack and defence and means I can play a bit more rugby.â
