The Gathering details...and don't forget to wear red
12 Mar 2010 - 10:35
Saracens will be wearing red when they take on Northampton Saints at Franklins Gardens on Sunday – and we want you to do the same.
We’re asking all fans who are making the trip up the M1 to watch the LV=Cup semi final to wear something red to match the players who will be wearing their away playing shirt.
We plan to really make an impression at Northampton and don’t forget that the pre-match gathering in the car park starts at 1pm. Join us for free food and beer / soft drinks as we look forward to the big game before we march on the stadium to welcome the players as they arrive.
We made quite a statement at Franklins Gardens last season in the European Challenge Cup semi-final, but let’s go one better this time.

Sadly, bigmal, if you administer enough brandy to make them forget the Doctor's game-plan, they will be unable to stand.

"Sadly, bigmal, if you administer enough brandy to make them forget the Doctor's game-plan, they will be unable to stand." Come to think of it, though, our front row has been unable to stand for some weeks now.

Message to all fans (including Edward Griffiths) who think they have the right to tell the rest of us how to think, feel or behave: not all of us accept that supporting Sarries requires joining the Happy Sarries Glee Club. I for one have still got my eyes and my brain, and I will call it as I see it, thank you very much. I have experienced many professional situations where myopic group-think has led to suicidal optimism when, in reality, the only thing that could have avoided catastrophe would've been a healthy dose of honesty and realism. I see plenty of signs of this kind of happy-clappy group-think from Sarries' management at the moment. But not the players: I have had it from the horse's mouth that some of them are not exactly chuffed at the way things are being run, but then this kind of disconnect between the chiefs and the Indians is in itself a sure indicator of exactly the kind of management myopia I am describing. Howsoever, I shall be there on Sunday in my finest red: *that* is the sign of a supporter, being there to support your team however poorly they play, but it does *not* mean that we have to be blind to the problems.

well said Baz exactly my thoughts and your right i have been chatting to one or two players and they are not happy playing negative rugby and losing and because of the lack of direction from the coaching staff we are going to lose a lot of our young talent before long unless things change almost straight away, and thats from the horses mouth.

Ah but Merlin, 'cos Sarries are that sort of club they've laid on free beer, Sunday Lunch entertainment and other things. Lets hope there's no humble pie on the menu. Perhaps we might see you if the food and beer runs out. What ever happens have a good day.
