Saracens Apprentices enjoy Sevens success
17 Mar 2010 - 09:15
The Saracens Apprentices at Oaklands College have made an excellent start to the sevens season, after completing two tournaments and finishing both with silverware.
Oaklands won the Plate in the prestigious Sussex Open Schools competition, after narrowly missing out on winning their group, beating kcs Wimbledon, Cranbrook and Bridgend College in the knock out stages to secure victory.
They were able to follow this up on Wednesday last week with an excellent performance to win the Hertfordshire Schools Sevens, where despite a number of injuries to the squad, they overcame St George's in the final to win the competition for the second year running.
Oaklands are next in action at the Surrey Schools Sevens at Richmond on Wednesday, and the Rosslyn Park National Sevens the following week.
