Double try scorer Jamie George believes his side can be happy with their attacking performance against London Irish, and is already looking forward to next week’s game against Gloucester.”
“It was a very good team performance” said the 22 year old.
“We’ve working hard all preseason on our attacking shape so we came here with a plan, and we put it into practice well and the team effort was the most pleasing thing today – all in all we’re happy” he said.
Both of George’s first half tries were supplied by Saracens England scrum-half Richard Wigglesworth, and George was quick to praise the half-back; “You try hang around quality players, and we’ve got plenty of those here”.
“You’re always working with your scrum halves in training and ‘Wiggy’ is a top quality player, so if you hang around him he’ll eventually put you into spaces to score” explained the front-rower.
Next up for Saracens is Gloucester at Allianz Park, and George is already focussing on visit of the Cherry and White’s next weekend.
“We played some really good stuff out there today, and hopefully that will provide us with a platform going into next week against Gloucester.”
“It’s going to be a massive test next week, but I think as a team we should be really excited by the challenge – we’ll have a good week’s training and we’re all looking forward to playing out there at Allianz Park”.
