Coach Education Programme
After consultation with a number of Saracens partner clubs and partner schools, Saracens have identified the need and demand for access to a high quality Coach Education programme across Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent and the Barnet borough. The idea behind the programme is to continually provide club coaches and school teachers with increased knowledge and ideas to raise the standards and participation levels of players throughout the community. During 2013-14 alone the Coach Education Programme interacted and help facilitate the development of over 1500 coaches and teachers.
Club Coach Evenings
The 2013/14 season has seen over 33 partner clubs engage in a Club Coach Education evening. These sessions consist of coaches participating in practical games and drills led by Saracens RDO, James Tirrell at their home clubs. These sessions provide a foundation to develop individuals coaching techniques by providing them with fresh content and hands on experience.
Don’t just take our word for it….
‘Great session with some good ideas that our coaches can adapt to suit their age groups. Well presented, friendly and informative. When can we do the next one !!’ – Epping Upper Clapton RFC
‘A brilliant evening, fun, engaging and packed full of ideas. The feedback I have received was, understandably, very complimentary. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will/have already used the ideas you have provided.’ – Chelmsford RFC
‘A very quick note to say a big thank you for tonight’s training session. There was a real buzz in the clubhouse after you left . Everyone who came up to us this evening said they had thoroughly enjoyed the coaching including our first team head coach who I think has asked for your training session notes !!’ – Medway RFC
Elite Coach Education
During the 2013-14 season Saracens provided six Elite Coach Education evenings at Allianz Park Stadium. These sessions provide an insight into the workings and operations of Saracens on and off the field. The sessions to date have covered Strength & Conditioning, Coaching Philosophy, Concussion and Leadership. The evenings have previously be hosted by our very own senior coaches and players including the below:
Saracens will continue expanding this programme during 2014-15 to help develop both our partner clubs and schools by utilising the experience and knowledge of current senior players, senior coaches, academy and community coaches.
