Rutherford plans to catch £1million at Wembley

He jumped for gold at London 2012, but now Greg Rutherford is planning to catch £1million for Sport Relief at Wembley on Saturday 22nd March 2014.

The Olympic long jump gold medallist will attempt the Saracens 'Catch-a-Million' challenge during half-time of the Aviva Premiership Rugby match at Wembley and, if he can catch three consecutive up-and-unders, he will win £1million for Sport Relief.

"It's fair to say I'm nervous," said Rutherford, who is training for this summer's Commonwealth Games. "I'd hope I've got the speed to get in position, but catching the balls is a different matter.

“I don't play rugby but I'll be doing whatever I can to raise money for Sport Relief which is such a great cause."

More than 80,000 people are expected at Wembley, making history as the largest crowd ever to attend a club rugby union match, and the game is covered live on BT Sport.

You can be at Wembley to watch Rutherford’s Challenge and see Saracens’ Aviva Premiership Rugby crunch match with Harlequins. Tickets are available from £5 by clicking here.
