Saracens duo crowned world champions
Flanker Matt Hankin and hooker Scott Spurling tonight (Sunday) helped England U20s to a 23-15 victory against Wales in the final of the IRB Junior World Championships in France.
Hankin, pictured above celebrating with captain Jack Clifford, started the match while Spurling was on the bench for the victory, but at one stage it looked as if Wales were going to be crowned world champions as England had to overturn a 20-point deficit at half time.
Wales were utterly dominant in the first half, controlling the match through IRB Junior Player of the Year fly-half Sam Davies as they built up a comfortably 15-3 lead thanks to a brace of tries from winger Ashley Evans.
Even with a try disallowed either side of half time, England eventually crossed the line through Jack Nowell and Sam Hill plus the points from fly-half Henry Slade, which saw coach Nick Walshe's side crowned champions.
