Already 2014 has been a great year for the Saracens Sport Foundation with Club supporters putting themselves through incredible challenges to raise funds for our award-winning sport for social change projects.
Not only do we have 12 dedicated individuals tackling the London Marathon for us in April but running mad-man Richard Robert Jones is tackling over 620 miles for us this year, read all about his amazing challenge here
And as if that wasn’t enough, long time Saracens supporter Jim Maskell, who has been involved with our community work since it first began over a decade ago, has joined this determined contingent with a challenge of his own – Jim’s 5 go crazy in 2014! This will involve a series of increasingly demanding endurance events in full military kit and weighed down with a back-pack, including; The Brighton Half Marathon and the Para 10 in Colchester followed by the 3 main events of the SAS selection, the Force 10, the Fan Dance and finally the Point To Point.
Speaking about the challenge, Maskell said “I love the family ethos of Saracens and am passionate about the work that the Saracens Sport Foundation does. I usually take on a couple of challenges each year to keep myself fit having been medically discharged from the Army with a broken spine. This being my 41st year, I decided to add the fundraising element to it!”
Jim is hoping to raise in excess of £500 to support the Saracens Sport Foundation, read more about his journey and support him here
