Saracens Women off to flying start

Saracens Women got their campaign off to a flying start with a 69-5 win over Aylesford Bulls on Sunday.

Rob Cain racked up an impressive 10 tries in the victory that included braces from Nina Vistisen and player of the match Hannah Gallagher.

Saracens captain Kerrie-Ann Craddock was thrilled with the potential shown by her side in their opening fixture.

She said: "Yesterday was an excellent display of the potential that both Saracens and Aylesford Bulls have this season.

With huge collisions in both packs along with flair from the backs allowed Saracens to make an excellent score line.

For 80 minutes Aylesford fought, defending hard and getting a reward for their persistent efforts just after the second half kicked off.

It was great to see some new faces scoring on their debut and also the return of Charlotte Barras scoring on the return to the premiership after a number of years.

Player of the match, Hannah Gallagher put in a massive shift. Her work rate in attack and defence was huge with lots of carries and turnovers and she also got a couple of tries.

I'm extremely proud of how everyone played yesterday, plenty of room for improvement but an excellent start to our Premiership campaign."

Next Sunday sees Saracens Women take on Worcester Ladies in their first game of the season at Allianz Park, kick off 3pm.
