Saracens youngsters lead England to U20s glory
Seven Saracens starlets were part of the England U20s side that successfully defended their Junior World Championship title earlier this morning (20/6), when England defeated South Africa 21-20 in a tight and tense contest at Eden Park .
England were captained by Saracens lock forward Maro Itoje (pictured) and with fellow Sarries Nathan Earle and Nick Tompkins also named in the starting XV; scrum-half Henry Taylor and full-back Aaron Morris, who will be joining the Saracens Senior Academy this summer, also started the game. Saracens Academy loose forward Hayden Thompson-Stringer and tighthead prop Biyi Alo took their place on the bench.
A try from Nathan Earle after some decisive work from fellow Sarrie Nick Tompkins gave England the perfect start, with another score from replacement Joel Conlon along with the boot of Billy Burns enough to see England narrowly home at Eden Park.
Jesse Kriel scored two tries for the Baby Boks who at one stage lead 10-3 before England fought their way back to retain the Junior World Championship crown.
