Shaw hails Storm win
Skills coach Joe Shaw has hailed Saracens Storm’s bonus point 10-31 win away to London Irish ‘A’.
A youthful Saracens side led by Maro Itoje at lock-forward ran in five tries at Hazlewood, and Shaw believes tonight’s win was one of the best he’s seen Saracens Storm register in over two years.
“For me that was as good a Storm victory we have had in two years,” said Shaw.
"To go down there and to have performed the way we did, and show that kind of energy, physicality and intensity for a full eighty minutes really was unbelievable to see.”
He added; “For such a young side it was a brilliant performance. They had Jamie Hagan who has played over 50 times for a strong side like Connacht, plus Geoff Cross who has played for Scotland and a lock the calibre of Nick Rouse, it just shows how strong and experienced they were. For us to turn up tonight and put in a performance like that and come away with a bonus point is fantastic not only for those involved tonight, but for the whole club.”
