With Saracens players returning to training in July, they will be joined by six familiar faces who have been promoted to the full time Academy squad for the 2013/14 campaign.
Nathan Earle, Maro Itoje, Charlie Kingsman, Josh Sharp, Hayden Stringer and Nick Tompkins (pictured) will be joining the club on a more permanent basis, and Academy Manager Don Barrell is looking forward to integrating the young stars into the club.
“It great that six young rugby players, who all have so much potential and ability, are progressing into the full time academy,” said Barrell.
“All have their individual goals and focuses but our long term goal is to develop all of our academy players into rugby players who are capable of excelling in a first team environment.”
The focus for this latest intake in the pre-season will be about learning their trade; they will be preparing for life as a professional rugby player so that will mean a greater focus and concentration their physical and mental preparation, learning what they can eat and adjusting their lifestyles to suit that of a professional rugby player.
They will be continually up-skilling, improving and developing their own individual games whilst integrating themselves further into the club.
