Spencer proud of Saracens win

Match winner Ben Spencer spoke of his pride of his teammate’s performance, after the Saracens scrum-half kicked seven penalties in their 9-21 win away to the Ospreys in the LV=Cup at The Gnoll.

Spencer produced a kicking master class in awful conditions and speaking after the game, the half-back said; “It's brilliant to get the win in the driving rain. The conditions looked alright in the warm-up, it was dry, not much wind, then as soon as we went out on the pitch it hammered it down. I think we played the conditions very well. I’m so proud of the boys to come up here and get the result.

"I enjoy taking the extra responsibility and it went really well out there tonight. You get your good days and you get bad days so I’m just really happy that it was one of those ‘good’ ones tonight. Our forwards were immense, it wasn’t really a backs game."

He added; “We kept it tight and we played to our strengths very well, and it was one of those days where my boot was hot out there. We’re very happy.”
