    Bio:

Ashton's position at Wigan Warriors was full-back. He also operated on the wing. Ashton came through Wigan's scholarship programme and played in Wigan U18s in 2003. He made his senior debut in Wigan's last match of the 2005 season. He scored two of their seven tries in a 36–22 victory over Huddersfield.[2] After impressing in the academy, where he scored 27 tries in 23 games, he made his Super League debut against Hull in June 2005, at the age of 18.

Ashton was brought into the Wigan squad at the start of 2006 as replacement for the injured Kris Radlinski. He had impressed on his debut in 2005, but in 2006 he showed good skill, pace and talent and impressed many Wigan fans and people within Rugby League. Ashton was one of the most consistent players for Wigan during 2006's disappointing Super League XI season and was a contender for the Young Player of the Year award. He finished the 2006 season with 15 tries from 29 appearances making him the leading try scorer for Wigan.

Ashton was given the number 1 shirt at the start of 2007 despite the arrival of former Bradford Bulls full back Michael Withers. Previously the number 1 shirt was worn by Radlinski and had been for 12 years and many people believed that Ashton had the talent to be a good replacement for Radlinski.

He made 52 appearances for the Cherry and Whites, scoring 30 tries.

    Debut: vs Worcester Warriors (13/2/10)

    Total Appearances: 104

    Player Sponsor: The Vickers Family

    Bio:

Jacques Burger made his long awaited return to action after a prolonged spell on the sidelines in 2013, and what a return it turned out to be.

Few will forget Burger’s rampaging performance in Saracens demolition of Clermont Auvergne at Twickenham in the Heineken Cup semi-final, where Burger made 27 ferocious tackles in a display that cemented Burger’s status as the embodiment of the Saracens “Wolf-Pack”.

Voted Premiership Player of the Month in September 2013, Burger went on to break Lewis Moody’s Premiership record for tackles made in one game, when the Namibian openside made an astonishing 37 tackles away to Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park, in Saracens’ narrow 9-16 win.

The back row has quickly earned a reputation as one of the toughest tacklers in the league following his arrival midway through the 2009/10 season – and his performances also haven’t gone unnoticed among as his peers as he was named the Saracens Player of the Year in 2010/11.

The Namibian international was the stand out performer for his country in the 2007 World Cup in France – displays that saw him earn a contract with Super 14 outfit the Bulls. His performances in the 2011 tournament in New Zealand were equally impressive where he captained his country.

He is capable of playing anywhere across the back row, but has played much of his rugby as a flanker on either side of the scrum.

He missed much of the 2011/12 season through injury, but he fought his way back to fitness to return to the Saracens line-up in March 2013 after 18 months out of the game.

    Bio:

Evergreen scrum-half Neil de Kock joined a select band of Saracens players during the 2013/14 season by passing the 200 game mark for the Club.

In his first full season with Saracens, Neil de Kock captained the side to a semi-final place in the Heineken Cup and his performances have been just as impressive ever since.

It didn’t take the South African international scrum half long to make his mark at Saracens and already he is regarded by many supporters to have been one of the club’s most successful overseas signings.

An example of that came in the 2006/07 season – his first with Saracens – when only a few months into his spell he was offered an extended contract. He made an instant impression on the side following his arrival from Western Province in October of that season.

Such was his impact in his first year that he was the players’ choice to lead the side as captain for the 2007/08 season.

He was a regular with the South African province and also with the Super 14 side The Stormers and is widely regarded as one of the most talented scrum halves in South Africa where his passing, kicking game and all round awareness saw him win 10 caps for the Springboks after making his debut in 2001 against Italy. He was also part of the country’s 2003 World Cup squad.

Few could have written the script for Owen Farrell for the past four seasons that has seen him win a Premiership title with Saracens, become a full England international and a British Lion.

Farrell began the 2010/11 season as one of a group of players dual registered with Bedford Blues, but injury problems at fly half midway through the season saw Farrell promoted to the first team and he never looked back.

He guided the team to their second successive Twickenham final before a flawless kicking display of 17 points saw Sarries to their first ever title.

The year also saw him nominated for the Young Player of the Season by both the Premiership and RPA.

His performances caught the eye of England coach Stuart Lancaster who gave him his debut against Scotland at Murrayfield in the 2012 Six Nations.

He appeared in all matches for England and was named in the summer touring party to South Africa and he continued to be part of the England side for the Autumn International series later that year and the Six Nations in 2013.

He won the 2012 Premiership and RPA Young Player of the season awards.

South African international second row Alistair Hargreaves was appointed Saracens captain in the summer of 2014, taking over from the recently departed Steve Borthwick.

Now in his third season with the club, Hargreaves has been a vital cog in the Saracens engine room since his arrival in 2012.

Capped four times by the Springboks, Hargreaves joined from Super 15 region the Sharks for who he appeared more than 50 times since his debut in 2005.

The Durban born second row was part of the Springboks U19 and U21 sides before making the transition to the full side where his appearances include playing against Saracens at Wembley in 2009.

    Bio:

England and British Lions international playmaker and all time Premiership leading points scorer Charlie Hodgson joined Saracens at the start of the 2011/12 season.

It took Hodgson only 80 minutes to blaze across the England rugby firmament when scoring a record 44 points on his Test debut against Romania at Twickenham 11 years ago.

Between February 2003 and November 2006, Halifax-born Charlie started all except one of the 24 Tests for which he was available. He had helped England towards a Grand Slam in 2003, missed the subsequent RWC, required a second operation on an anterior cruciate ligament injury and was absent for eight months.

He helped Sale Sharks win the Premiership title in 2006 and has also toured with the British and Irish Lions.

A shrewd and experienced playmaker, Hodgson is the Premiership’s leading points scorer and his performances for Saracens saw him return to the England side in the 2012 Six Nations where he formed a midfield partnership with his club colleague Owen Farrell.

Following England’s tour to South Africa in the summer of 2012, Hodgson announced that he would be retiring from international rugby, but he continues to lead by example for his club and on the opening day of the 2012/13 season at Twickenham, he became the first player in Premiership history to reach 2,000 points.

    Bio:

Ernst Joubert was a new and somewhat unknown signing for Saracens fans when he made the move to London at the start of the 2009/10 season – but he is now regarded as one of the best No.8s in England after four seasons with Saracens.

Those seasons spent in North London means he is now qualified to play for England.

The powerful ball-carrying skills and broken field running and work in the lineout made him one of the Premiership’s best performers and he was named in the shortlist for player of the season in his first campaign in England…and he remains consistently one of the league’s top performers.

A natural leader, the back row made the move to London from Super 14 outfit the Lions where his last appearance for the team came as a replacement against the British and Irish Lions on their tour to South Africa in 2009.

Injury to captain Steve Borthwick saw Joubert take up the armband for the last two months of the 2009/10 campaign where his and the team’s achievements included the club’s first ever win against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road.

Joubert was a key member of the squad that lifted the 2011 Premiership title and seen by many pundits as one of the best No.8s in the competition.

A keen student of the lineout, Kruis dovetailed with recently retired Sarries Captain Steve Borthwick at the set-piece to great effect before sustaining a knee injury away to Wasps which effectively ended his season.

Kruis made his full debut for the club at Northampton Saints in the LV=Cup in 2009 and forced his way into first team reckoning before a fractured wirst early in the New Year interupted his campaign.
