Michael Tagicakibau returns to the Saracens starting line-up this weekend, and on the eve of Saracens’ top of the table clash, the Fijian flyer spoke of the rivalry between the two clubs.
“It has got tasty at times” said Tagicakibau.
“The boys loving playing up in Northampton, it’s a great atmosphere and I’m sure I speak for all the guys when I say that we are really looking forward to the weekend. Games between Saints and Sarries always seem to have an edge about them”.
He added; “History shows that when these two teams play each other, they are more often than not really close encounters and I’m sure that in Saturday it could be a real nail biter once again”.
Tagicakibau returns to the starting XV for the first time since his Man of the Match performance against London Wasps, and the 28 year-old is looking forward to playing his part in the top of the table clash this weekend.
“I’m looking to kick on from the London Wasps game and hopefully I can carry on where I left off the other week against Saints. Obviously it doesn’t get much bigger than playing Northampton at Franklin’s Gardens, and with it being one playing two that is only going to add to the magnitude of the game.“
“We all know how tough a place to go Franklin’s Gardens is to get a win so we have to put in a huge effort on Saturday. I think they have lots of threats all over the field but I think it’s how we execute and impose our game plan onto them that is the most important. They have one or two England boys who have returned this week, but we have Alex Goode back which is a huge bonus for us.
The Fijian added; “If we stick to what we do well, then we have a great chance”.
