Three Saracens picked for England Women's opener

Three members of Saracens Women’s Premiership winning team have been selected in England’s squad to face Wales in their opening Six Nations encounter on Sunday at Swansea RFC (kick off 2.30pm).

Saracens back rower Hannah Gallagher starts at openside flanker, as Acting Head Coach Nicola Ponsford picks a new-look side that includes three new caps.

On the bench, World Cup winner Vicky Fleetwood starts on the bench, as does Saracens back Lauren Cattell.

Acting Head Coach Nicola Ponsford said: “This season is the start of a new World Cup cycle for us, so the Six Nations is an opportunity for us to bring on a number of new players. We have got some really exciting young players coming through who will learn a lot from this experience.”
