Wyles only concentrating on Zebre
Saracens joint all-time Heineken Cup top try scorer Chris Wyles says the prospect of over taking Saracens legend Richard Hill as the clubs leading scorer in Europe's elite competition hasn't crossed his mind, as he prepares to face Zebre this Saturday in Pool 3 of the Heineken Cup.
"I haven't give it a minutes thought and to tell the truth, I didn't even realise I was level with Hilly" said USA international Wyles who along with former Saracens back-rower Hill has scored seven tries for the club in the competition.
"The thing I always say is, I love playing and being involved.
"We have such great depth at the club; people have put their hands up in the LV=Cup in recent weeks so obviously I'm happy to be playing as the competition for places here is intense. We all get rotated and we all have our chance to show what we can do, so to be involved so much this season is great and this weekend we have another challenge that will test us as a team".
On playing Zebre in the Heineken Cup he added; "Its one of the best rugby competitions around, so its always a challenge to play on the biggest stage".
He added; "Zebre's form in Rabo Direct league hasn't been fantastic, but we've studied them carefully and we know that they are better than maybe their league position suggests. We respect them and we know that they have the players to hurt us so we have prepared this week concentrating on the task in hand".
One of those players is former Saracens star Kameli Ratuvou, who left the club in the summer to take up a contract with the Rabo Direct side;
"It will be great to see Kameli" said Wyles.
"We know he's a fantastic player, having played with him and seen what he is capable of with ball in hand then I know that as a defensive unit we have to be on our game. We are looking forward to going over to Italy and playing a very strong side" added Wyles.
