Academy quartet in England U18s action

A quartet of Saracens academy players helped England U18s to a 15-7 win over France, as England kicked off their Under 18 International Series with a hard-fought victory over France at the City Park Stadium near Cape Town.

Prop forward Billy Walker, lock forward Nick Isiekwe and centres Max Malins (pictured) and Dominic Morris all started for John Fletcher’s side.

All four players, who played a key role in Saracens Academy U18s Premiership title winning side, lined up against their French counterparts as Harlequins wing Sam Aspland-Robinson crossed for two first half tries to give John Fletcher's charges a 12-0 lead at half-time.

However, France hit back after the break. A try for Les Bleus reduced the deficit on 36 minutes and moments later they had the chance to draw level.

Another try was disallowed for crossing though, and Brophy Clews capitalised on the let-off when France were caught offside later, slotting a penalty for the final points of the game.
