The RFU have issued an update following the interim postponement of Saracens against Exeter Chiefs last weekend.

The decision to postpone the pool stage round five Allianz Cup fixture, due to be played at the StoneX Stadium on Saturday 2 April was taken by the Rugby Football Union after Saracens reported a number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the playing group. The Disputes Committee concluded that the fixture should be cancelled, with the match being declared null and void.

There was no guarantee that rearranging the fixture on the only available dates (09/10 April) would allow enough time for the recovery of the affected players and therefore the fulfilment of the fixture.

Cancelling the fixture and declaring the match null and void also has no negative bearing or unintended consequence on the opposition, Exeter Chiefs, who remain top of Pool B.

Fixtures for the play-offs have now been confirmed.

Saracens Women will now travel to Gloucester-Hartpury on Friday 15th April in the 5th/6th place play off, with kick off at 13:00.
