Bosch back in the rhythm for Rugby Championship
Marcelo Bosch is eagerly anticipating Argentina’s 2014 Rugby Championship campaign, writes Matthew Hennessey.
Los Pumas face South Africa in Pretoria on August 16 in their first match of the four nation championship, and have recently concluded a two game series against French side Grenoble in preparation for the tournament.
Argentina won the series 2-0, winning games in Buenos Aires and the northern Argentine city of Catamarca, and Saracens star Bosch believes the fixtures against Grenoble have been a worthwhile exercise in the lead up to Los Pumas Rugby Championship campaign.
"Physically, the legs are a bit tired, but that is normal because we are still in preseason and hopefully we’ll feel much better in South Africa,” said Bosch after he played 66 minutes in Argentina’s 56-22 victory. “I felt better in Saturday’s game than the game in Buenos Aires, but I know fixtures like this are great for regaining my rhythm for the upcoming games.
“It is very nice to play the in Rugby Championship and face the best teams in the world,” added Bosch. “Not to demean Grenoble, because they are a great team, but we know that the Rugby Championship will be very different to what we experienced on Saturday - as a team, we have a big challenge ahead”.
