Brown reacts to Saints defeat
Kelly Brown says Saracens are already looking to right a few wrongs after a frustrating 25-20 defeat to rivals, Northampton Saints.
The Scotland loose forward had an impressive outing in the Sarries No7 shirt in what proved to be a topsy-turvy contest at a packed Stadium MK.
Speaking after the game, Brown said: “There’s no getting away from it, today was a disappointing result. It was a tough game and I think overall we conceded a few too many penalties and if you do that against a top side like Saints then they are going to punish you.
“What we did, which is very unlike is, was we were compounding errors. It’s not something that we usually do - when something goes wrong we get ourselves back on track and we just didn’t do that today. We’ve still got two massive games left in this league and we’ll be fully focussed on those.”
Saracens head into a weekend break after the Premiership breaks for the European finals. Brown believes a rest for the squad at this time can but Saracens in good stead heading into a make or break month of May after a nine week non-stop block of rugby for the Allianz Park side.
He said: “I don’t think having a break at this time of the season is necessarily a bad thing, but it’s a funny old thing, as a rugby player you want to get straight back onto the pitch and right a few wrongs. In saying that, I don’t think it’s come at such a bad time. We’ll rest up, look at what we can improve at and work unbelievably hard to go into the next couple of games a better side.”
