Captain Brown 'excited' by Kingsholm challenge
Kelly Brown will captain Saracens on Friday night at Kingsholm, in their Premiership clash against Gloucester.
The Scotland international will step in for Alistair Hargreaves who misses the game due to a slight knock.
Speaking about skippering Saracens on Friday night, Brown said: “It’s a huge honour. Every time I’ve been asked to captain this club I’ve always done it with a lot of pride. We have leaders throughout the side, and they’ll help me along.
“I feel as if we're going well, without us fully firing. We’ve looked at the previous five games and we can take a lot of confidence into Friday’s game. I think we’ve done well in our last few games, but in saying that we’re working very hard on what we can improve on - I think it’s only a matter of time before we pull it all together."
On facing Gloucester, the 31-year old added: “Their squad has changed a fair bit in the summer and they’re coming off the back of a really good win last Saturday, so we're under no illusions of the size of the task facing us. In saying that, we feel that we’re in a good place and we’re very excited by Friday night.”
