Cheering Curriculum Success
Schools of Cheer are community clubs that aim to provide sustained participation and development opportunities. These mid-week cheerleading clubs are open to all aspiring cheerleaders between the ages of 6-17 and run throughout Hertfordshire and North London. All clubs are run by qualified cheerleading coaches and have been tailored towards the development of competitive cheerleading squads.
The progressive classes focus on the development of various cheerleading techniques, dance, stunts, tumbling and chants but most of all, as with all of Saracens community work, these Schools of Cheer will provide fun and enjoyment for all those involved at the same time as meeting new people and learning new skills.
Saracens Schools of Cheer are going from strength to strength with new participants joining regularly.
Two new promising cheerleaders that joined Saracens Supreme School of Cheer on Tuesday evening are Abbie and Jasmine.
Abbie has had experience already on the cheerleading programme, as she attended the classes at Bengeo Primary School when the Saracens Community Dance Programme first started and Jasmine has had 6 years of gymnastics training.
Both girls attended Cheer Sportivate sessions at Presdales School in the Autumn of 2013 and really enjoyed taking part in the Saracens School of Cheer competition with their school. Jasmine and Abbie are now in year 10, undertaking their GCSE’s and have chosen to do cheerleading as one of their sports because they enjoyed taking part so much in the past. They also like it because it is different as no one else in their class is doing it, it is demanding on the body, fun and a great work out.
The girls have now been attending Saracens Supreme School of Cheer since the beginning of the new school year and love it!
Jasmine said she is "“excited to be going to my first competition, Winter Wonderland at Crystal Palace to experience the whole cheer craze!”
Abbie said "It's really nerve racking but exciting to know we are working towards performing at Wembley Stadium in March. That's so many people to impress and such a good opportunity to have!"
